About the job

We develop modern and business-critical applications for administrative systems in the education sector. This position focuses on backend development within our SSVN system; a system built on robust Java logic and advanced SQL operations.
We are looking for a committed Senior Backend Developer who will take responsibility for key backend components, contribute to system architecture, and work closely with our architects, consultants, and project managers.
Our system architecture is built on robust backend logic in Java combined with high-performance data operations in SQL. Java provides long-term stability, excellent integration within enterprise environments, and a strong tooling ecosystem. SQL enables precise control of data flows, high performance with large data volumes, and reliable consistency—central to our business-critical applications.
 

Your tasks

• Implementation of development work packages within our key backend systems
• Design, optimization, and implementation of complex SQL queries and transactional processes
• Active participation in architecture design and system improvements
• Backend development based on the Java technology stack
• Confident use of AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) to improve development efficiency
• Responsibility for the technical integrity and maintainability of the software

Your experience

• Very strong knowledge of Java (at least 5 years of experience)
• Very strong knowledge of SQL, including query design, optimisation, and transactional logic
• Experience in backend development within Java environments
• Solid understanding of complex data structures
• Clean, structured working style with a strong sense of code quality
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication skills, including English

Nice to have

• Ideal frontend experience with Vue.js (version 3) and the Quasar Framework
• Experience with PostgreSQL, especially with large datasets and performance tuning
• Understanding of TypeScript / JavaScript
• Experience with tools such as Git (Bitbucket), Eclipse, Visual Studio Code
• Practical usage of AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, etc.)

Advantages

• Advanced SQL knowledge (CTEs, window functions, performance optimization)
• Experience in building CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
• Experience with identity management technologies (OpenID, SAML)
